Eden Gardens Turns 150 : Sourav Ganguly Takes Part in Celebrations - Oct/Nov - 2014

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is perhaps one of the oldest state cricket boards of the country and it will celebrate 150 years of Eden Gardens. It is also known that there will be a series of events that are scheduled to take place on the eve of the 150th anniversary of Eden Gardens.

Oct 16 :

The Cricket Association of Bengal launched the 150-year celebration of the Eden Gardens by felicitating former cricketers Chandu Borde and Salim Durani, who played a prominent role in India's first Test win at the same venue against England in 1961-62. The ceremony was also attended by present and former cricketers of the State including former India captain and current CAB joint secretary Sourav Ganguly. The occasion saw the launch of a book titled ‘Eden Gardens Legends and Romance’ by former Bengal captain Raju Mukherjee and a 12-minute documentary on the history of the Eden Gardens conceptualised by another former Bengal captain Gopal Bose.
